My Best Friend's childhood friend is doing a long prison term in California for supposive Child Abuse on her 2 kids. The jury, judge & state didn't want to listen to anything she had to say. See her boyfriend, the kids father, was angry with her over something stupid. And both Kids had recently got hurt playing, one of them on the stairs, as children do. So he called the police saying she was abusing the kids. Which was in no way true...even doctor's that had seen the kids after thier injuries didn't believe it was abuse. But like Darren's sad story no one seemed to care they had thier mind made up in the beginning. Her whole family was on her side, and even the kids father's Aunt & Mom. But when the father decided he couldn't deal with the kids on his own & his mother realized she could raise these kids she switched her story. She then went in saying that the kids Mother was abusive, all so for the selfish, and unknow reason, so she could end up raising these kids. My friends friend ended up just given up, figuring she had no way of fighting it after she was found guilty in the 1st case & felt no one was on her side now but her own mother she just took the sentence. She was sentenced to 12 years in California State Womens Prison. I believe that she is down to 4 more years to finish her term. Sorry I kinda just went on and on, But I wanted to let U know that unfortuantely U and Darren aren't alone. I just hope that someone finally take a REAL LOOK @ the supposive evidence and do what's right. I will hopefully get another 3 - 4 people to sign your petition by Tuesday. I wish U 2 the best of luck & Justice!!!!

Just to illustrate the unusual malice behind the Koehn conviction, compare it to the case of Ryan Dexter George, below, who only was convicted of 'manslaughter'after admitted to viciously beating his foster daughter to death, and got a maximum of 10 years prison (with early release at 2/3 of that) while Koehn has served over 10 years already for a crime that never even happened...

VICTORIA (CP) -- The B.C. government ordered a new investigation Tuesday into its handling of a report on the brutal death of a 19-month-old girl.
The decision to re-examine government reviews of the September 2002 death of Sherry Charlie came 24 hours after the Opposition New Democrats accused the government of altering the original guidelines to lessen the blame on the Liberals.

Children and Family Development Minister Stan Hagen told the legislature that the province's child and youth officer will examine the initial investigation of the death, looking into three areas, including why the terms of reference for the investigation were changed.
The review must be submitted to Attorney General Wally Oppal by Dec. 1.
The government will make the review -- what it is legally able to do -- public shortly after its completion, Hagen said.
Charlie of Port Alberni, B.C., died on Sept. 4, 2002, less than a month after being moved into the home of Ryan Dexter George, a relative who took her in after her mother could no longer care for her.
George, 32, was sentenced to 10 years in prison in October 2004 after he pleaded guilty to manslaughter in her death.
He originally told police the girl died after her brother pushed her down the stairs, but later admitted to kicking Sherry and slamming her head into the floor because she wouldn't stop crying.
At the time of Sherry's death, George was on probation for a March 2002 conviction of spousal assault. He also had previous convictions for robbery with violence and arson.
